Why should our most significant gifts of goodness, kindness, and joy be limited to one day a year?
In A Christmas Carol, Charles Dickens says that Christmas is "A good time: a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time: the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely."
I hope that someday, as everyone learns to choose better and share love and joy, these feelings will not be limited to just one time of the year. As everyone in this world learns to grow in oneness, I pray that the Christmas Spirit will last throughout the year and that each day can become more like Christmas Day.
May each of you have a very Merry Christmas. May your hearts be full of love and good cheer. May your souls sing with joy and love. And may you always, with every choice you make, do your best to make every day more like Christmas Day.
