One of Purposeful Financial and Legacy Planning's key values is to support the local community. In support of that value, we will highlight a Northern Colorado charity each quarter. Additionally, we support that charity with a donation.
This quarter we are highlighting the Matthews House, a non-profit located in Fort Collins, CO, dedicated to empowering older youth and families to break the cycle of poverty.
Founded in 2005, The Matthews House collaborates closely with the justice system, foster care organizations, and local schools, enabling them to develop a comprehensive understanding of the most pressing needs surrounding the youth and family they are trying to serve. These needs span a wide range, encompassing housing and employment assistance, academic development support, and the cultivation of essential domestic skills.
The Matthews House offers a comprehensive range of services including life skills training, educational support, mental health counseling, and vocational preparation. They also offer programs and resources like Parent Cafes, after school "Connect Up" programs, summer zone projects, music and educational activities, and SafeCare Colorado "to empower youth to take control of their lives, shape positive futures for themselves and become successful contributors to their community."
The organization focuses on building trusting relationships with participants to help them achieve self-sufficiency and resilience. Community involvement plays a key role, with volunteers and local partners enhancing the impact of their programs.
For more information on how you can donate, volunteer, join the team, or sponsor their programs, visit their website at The Matthews House.
